Shin Fujiyama , a Japanese philanthropist, arrived in Honduras on Sunday after completing a challenging 3,000-kilometer journey from the U.S.-Mexico border.

His arrival at the border crossing of ‘El Poy’, in Ocotepeque , was marked by the emotion of hundreds of Hondurans who awaited him with banners, music and applause, even gifts.

Yeimi Licona , Fujiyama ‘s girlfriend , shared a sweet gift on her Instagram stories for her unborn daughter: a onesie with the message “My dad is a hero,” alluding to Shin ‘s incredible journey in support of education in Honduras.

Likewise, she received him with an effusive kiss , showing pride and joy for the feat.

During the 105 days of his journey, Shin crossed three countries: Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador, with the aim of raising funds to build schools in Honduras.

As a token of gratitude, the city of Ocotepeque gave him the keys to the city, highlighting the impact of his effort and dedication to the country.
