Sports journalist and candidate for deputy air their dirty laundry on social media
“If you keep saying things, it will hurt you. He was wandering around the United States,” said an upset Orlando Ponce Morazán in reference to Rashid Mejía.
In the last few hours, an intense exchange of words between sports journalist Orlando Ponce Morazán and the candidate for deputy for the ‘Vamos Honduras’ movement of the Liberal Party, Rashid Mejía, went viral on social media .
During the broadcast of his program ‘Extra Liga’ on a radio station in the capital, Ponce began by saying that Mejía ‘was an avocado grower’, and that he had previously participated in the ‘white shirts’ -opposition- marches.
The well-known social communicator also criticized the fact that the candidate for deputy did not “spend a penny” on his campaign because he was trying to find a place in all the political parties.
” Rashid followed the National Party . Why do I tell you that you are an avocado grower? If I were on Salvador Nasralla’s team, I would put money from what I earned. I would put money to Salvador, but you don’t put even a pizza ,” said Ponce.
Orlando Ponce then added that “I have information from the chats that this Nasralla movement has and it is a disgrace, they act like rich people and don’t say anything. Rashid doesn’t say anything and tells Salvador Nasralla that his support is on social networks.”
Rashid Mejia’s response to Orlando Ponce
For his part, Mejía responded to Ponce through his social networks that he usually does not use his social networks to respond to “rascal attacks”, however, since it is him, he was going to respond.
” You are an avocado grower who could not even give help and food to your mother when she asked for it . Excuse me, you are not an avocado grower, you are a madman. You boast that you spent thousands of lempiras on political campaigns that in the end were of no use to you, you had your mother starving ,” said Mejía.
Likewise, the creator of content on social networks reproached Ponce that he was the “opportunist” because after shouting in favor of Juan Orlando Hernández, today he is missing an advertising break.
“I don’t care what you failed journalist says. I just want to remind people what kind of person you are,” Rashid Mejia concluded.
‘Don’t mess with me’: Ponce to Rashid
After Rashid’s reaction, journalist Orlando Ponce responded: “You don’t know who you’re messing with. Don’t mess with me, if you keep doing things like that I’ll bring up other things.”
He later added that ” Rashid was talking to people from the Libre Party , now he has made enemies because he is frustrated since they did not give him an opportunity.”
This exchange of words between the two public figures caused a series of reactions from users. Some in support of Ponce and others in favor of Mejía.
