Starlink increases internet prices for Nigerians from January
GuruTrends.com.ng reports that Nigeria became the first African country to receive the satellite-based internet service when Starlink commenced operations in the country in January 2023.
In an email to its subscribers on Friday, the company stated that the price adjustments are necessary to enhance its network infrastructure and maintain the delivery of high-quality internet service across the country.
The new pricing structure is as follows: Standard (Residential) N75,000, Mobile – Regional (Roam Unlimited) N167,000, and Mobile – Global (Global Roam) N717,000.
“These changes reflect our commitment to investing in the infrastructure needed to support and improve your experience with Starlink,” the company said.
The operator added that subscribers who no longer wish to continue with the service were informed of the option to cancel their subscription at any time.
In September, Starlink attempted a price hike that saw a 97 per cent increase, from N38,000 to N75,000 monthly. At the time, the company cited inflation as the reason for the adjustment.
