A video went viral on social media on Tuesday showing an alleged Syrian Army soldier captured by rebels, who forced him to admit that Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo is a better player than Lionel Messi.
The images, which were recorded by one of the militiamen fighting against the Bashar al-Assad regime , show how he and another of his companions intimidate the alleged soldier.
Taking him by the hair, the hooded men force him to say that ” Messi is useless” and that Ronaldo, the top scorer in the history of the Portuguese National Team, is a much better player than Messi, world champion with Argentina in Qatar 2022.
At the end of the video, the rebels can be seen taking pity on the frightened man and releasing him. It is worth mentioning that the Portuguese currently plays for Al-Nassr Football Club in Saudi Arabia.
However, social media users were not far behind and reacted both in favor and against the action.
“It’s not unusual to see CR7 fans being terrorists,” “With FIFA they do that, the rest of us know that Cristiano is the best,” “They only told the truth, Cristiano is the best without a doubt. Messi is a product maintained by FIFA, that’s why they give him championships,” wrote some Internet users.
