A large fire on Wednesday night consumed at least nine homes, mostly built of wood, in the French Harbour sector, in Roatán, Bay Islands , in the Caribbean of Honduras.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and immediately proceeded to extinguish the flames and subsequently control the fire.
So far, no injuries have been reported , only material losses, since around five houses were completely burned down.
The cause of the fire is also unknown , so a team from the distinguished institution will carry out investigations into the case.
Roatán Mayor Ron McNab arrived in the area to provide support to those affected, while recalling that in less than two years this community has been affected by several fires.
“We are here looking into how we can support the population, fortunately 85% of the situation is already under control . We have also made our municipal team available to those affected,” said the councillor.
