Julio Baquedano , a talented 28-year-old Honduran choreographer, went viral after leading the Rafael Pineda Ponce Institute of Tegucigalpa ‘s group of palonas in the parades on September 15.

In an exclusive interview with tunota.com, Baquedano shared that her school was on the verge of not participating in the parades due to a problem with the baton twirlers’ costumes.

However, thanks to the support of a mother, they managed to resolve the situation in time: It was a moment of uncertainty, but the mother of one of the girls helped us and we were able to be present at the parades,” she explained.

Julio has been a choreographer for the Rafael Pineda Ponce youth group for six years , although this is the first time he has participated in the national parades .

“I will be the same Julio”

Regarding his sudden fame on social media, Baquedano was grateful but humble.

“God has given me the blessing and I accept it with gratitude. I believe that effort and sacrifice have their reward, but I will always be the same Julio, a humble person, with humble roots. My mother, a street vendor, has been a father and mother to my brothers and me. I owe everything to her,” he said emotionally.

 

 

An international invitation

Julio’s viralization has not only attracted attention in Honduras , but also outside the country. Recently, he was invited by a well-known figure in El Salvador to represent Honduras at a cultural event.

 

 

“I feel excited and ready to take on this challenge. I will be proudly representing my country in El Salvador ,” he said enthusiastically.

With his dedication and passion for art, Julio Baquedano shows that talent and humility can open doors, becoming a source of pride for Honduras.
