At a summit in Croatia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the conflict between Ukraine and Russia must end by 2025.
“In October, November and December, we have a real opportunity to move the situation towards long-term peace and stability and we are counting on the leadership of President Biden, we are counting on the strong and wise actions of Britain, France, Germany and Italy to bring security and peace to Europe ,” he said. “The situation on the battlefield creates an opportunity to make that choice – the choice of decisive action to end the war by 2025 at the latest.”
The Ukrainian president did not elaborate on how to achieve this goal or why he now sees it as an opportunity. He stressed that Ukraine’s accession to NATO would be a “real step towards world peace.”
