At least three people died and others are missing after a boat capsized on Tuesday afternoon in Lake Yojoa, in northern Honduras.
The information was confirmed to tunota.com by the authorities of the Honduran Red Cross branch in Taulabé, Comayagua, who also indicated that two more people are being resuscitated.
According to the source, the deceased included two minors and an adult woman , who were on the boat with 12 other people. The identity of the victims is currently unknown .
Paramedics from the Red Cross and the Fire Department arrived at the scene to provide assistance to the injured and the relatives of the deceased.
Preliminary information indicated that the now deceased were on an excursion from Marale, Francisco Morazán.
Tragedy at Lake Yojoa
According to police authorities, the tragedy occurred at around 5:30 pm when the family group rented a boat to take a tour of the lake.
After the accident, the survivors reached the shore as best they could and began to provide first aid to the injured.
