In his election campaign, newly-elected President Donald Trump hammered that he would stop the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in 24 hours.
“Trump is capable of being decisive in this war, he can really stop Putin, or rather help us stop Putin,” said Zelenski in a nationally broadcast interview, in which he acknowledged having already had ‘several conversations’ with the future US president, both in person and on the phone.
“He’s strong and unpredictable. I would very much like President Trump’s unpredictability to apply mainly to the Russian Federation. I think he really wants to end the war,” said Zelenski, who said that in his contacts with Trump ‘there were no negative moments’, while stressing the importance of ‘building relations’ between the two.
