A tragic accident occurred last Sunday night at an amusement park installed on the esplanade of a shopping center in La Aurora, Daule, Ecuador .
A mechanical ride unexpectedly collapsed, leaving at least ten people injured, six of whom are in critical condition.
Witnesses report that the structure began to fail and break off, causing several citizens to fall.
The incident alert was sent to ECU911 around 8:00 p.m., mobilizing emergency teams, including the Daule and Samborondón Fire Department, the Ministry of Health, the National Police and the Ecuadorian Transit Commission .
The most seriously injured were taken to nearby health centres, while others managed to leave the area on their own.
There were moments of anguish among the victims’ families, with some expressing concern for the condition of their loved ones.
The municipal commissioner, Alfonso Arzuaga , confirmed the immediate closure of the esplanade to investigate the incident and guarantee the safety of those attending.
