The fan wearing a Jean-Philippe Mateta shirt was invited onto the pitch at the interval of the Premier League clash to take a penalty against Palace mascot Pete the Eagle. It was converted by the youngster with aplomb, before he turned to face the travelling fans, making a shushing gesture.

With the international break now taking over after this weekend, the Reds are not back in action until Chelsea visit Anfield on October 20.
