A video posted on TikTok by a Honduran teacher, identified as “Profe Mario,” has gone viral as it shows the reality of being a teacher in a rural school.
In the clip, the professor explains that, after much thought, he decided to open his account on the platform to document what life is like teaching in a rural community, where he teaches students from first to sixth grade as a “single-teacher” teacher.
The video shows the teacher on his motorbike, travelling along a rough dirt road on his way to school, a reflection of the daily effort he makes to ensure the education of his students.
The teacher also highlights his intention to make the needs of rural communities visible and to inspire support for these forgotten areas.
