The preliminary autopsy report on Liam Payne , the former member of the British band One Direction who died yesterday in Buenos Aires after falling from the third floor of a hotel, indicates that he died of “multiple trauma” and suffered “internal and external hemorrhage,” local police sources reported on Thursday.
The autopsy, carried out by the forensic medical team of the Supreme Court of Justice, led by forensic experts Santiago Maffia Bizzozero and Víctor Cohen, confirmed that the 31-year-old musician died from the fall.
Payne, a 31-year-old composer and guitarist, died on Wednesday after falling from the third floor of a hotel in the Palermo neighborhood of the Argentine capital.
On Wednesday afternoon, the hotel manager told local police that he “felt a loud noise” in the back of the hotel, and officers later confirmed Payne’s death after he had jumped from the balcony of his room.
The director of emergency medical services for the city of Buenos Aires, Alberto Crescenti, later told local media that the fall caused “very serious injuries that immediately caused his death” and later told TN that “there was no possibility of resuscitation.”
