What happened to footballer Juan Izquierdo?

Following the cardiac arrest he suffered, Juan Izquierdo developed severe cerebral edema that did not improve in the following days. Juan Izquierdo’s career
Juan Manuel Izquierdo began his football career at Cerro and later played for Peñarol, as well as playing for Wanderers and Liverpool, as well as Nacional. At international level, he had a stint with Atlético San Luis in Mexico.
With Nacional, he was part of the team that won the Clausura Tournament and the 2022 Uruguayan Championship, in addition to winning the Intermediate Tournament in 2024 .
