A recent study by the Global Speedtest Index revealed that the Latin American countries with the best speed and performance in mobile internet are Brazil, Chile and Guatemala.
This report, which compares internet speeds around the world on a monthly basis, highlights these three countries as regional leaders in mobile connectivity.
Meanwhile, the Global Speedtest Index ranks Honduras sixth . In contrast, Venezuela and Bolivia are among the last places both in Latin America and globally.

How is internet speed measured?
Internet speed is measured in megabits per second (Mbps) and depends on factors such as infrastructure, service quality and coverage.
According to the report, Brazil records an average speed of 78.20 Mbps, followed by Chile with 43.73 Mbps and Guatemala with 41.29 Mbps. On the other hand, the countries with the lowest speeds in the region are Paraguay with 19.23 Mbps, Venezuela with 14.59 Mbps and Bolivia with 10.60 Mbps.
Globally, the United Arab Emirates tops the list with an average speed of 428.53 Mbps, while Afghanistan comes in last at 8.54 Mbps.
