Biography of Emiliano Garcia-Page
Born on June 11, 1968 in Toledo, Emiliano García-Page is known for his distinguished political career, but his story begins long before he became president of Castilla-La Mancha.
At the age of 18, he joined the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) , marking the beginning of a life dedicated to public service. Between 1987 and 1993, he served as a councillor in the Toledo City Council, where he began to gain experience in public management.
He subsequently served as deputy mayor and held key roles in regional government, including positions as Minister of Public Works and Social Welfare.
In 2015, García-Page assumed the presidency of Castilla-La Mancha after a pact with Podemos, managing to consolidate himself as the leader of the region. Since then, he has been re-elected three times, with his latest victory in 2023 under an absolute majority.
During his tenure, he has been recognized for his critical style towards the central government, making decisions that have generated both support and controversy.
Emiliano Garcia-Page’s family and divorce
Emiliano García-Page’s personal life has not been free of headlines. He was married for almost 25 years to Yolanda Fernández, with whom he had two children: Raquel and David.
While Raquel has opted for a career in Medicine, little is known about David, who has maintained a reserved profile. However, their marriage ended in 2020 amid rumours about an alleged relationship between the politician and Raquel Ruiz López, mayor of Elche de la Sierra.
Although these speculations were not confirmed, the divorce was widely covered by the media.
After the separation, García-Page left the family home and rented a house in the La Legua residential area in Toledo. Despite his personal challenges, the politician had the support of his family, especially his twin brother Javier, who has been a key figure in his life.
