Singer Tyla Laura Seethal, better known by her stage as Tyla, from South Africa, has declared her appreciation for singer Asake’s music.
In a recent Rolling Stone interview, she revealed the revelation when discussing the sources of inspiration for her viral smash song “Water.”
Tyla said that he adores Asake’s usage of his “choir vocals.”
She claimed that the Amapiano from her own country, her early R&B influences, and Nigeria’s Afrobeats served as the inspiration for her song “Water.”
“I think the piano music is the essence of it [‘Water,'” she remarked. Along with all of the inspirations from my childhood, including pop girls, R&B boys, and Rihanna. I adore incorporating those kinds of inspirations into my songs.
The step vocals in Afrobeats songs that nearly sound like a chorus are something I truly adore. Furthermore, I adore how Asake employs it. It’s just the sound that I find so appealing. Thus, I used it into the chorus of my song “Water.” It’s obvious that people are singing nonstop and loving it, so that’s great.
