A short clip of a British conservationist named Freya Aspinall cuddling up in bed with four rescued lion cubs has gone viral on social media platforms. According to the viral clip, the British conservationist can be seen surrounded by the lion cubs, cuddling up to her like house pets. Well, it is to be noted that Freya Aspinall is the daughter of famed wildlife advocate Damian Aspinall.
According to Aspinall’s post, they rescued four lion cubs who were just hours away from being euthanized. The cubs, born in captivity to a breeder who profited from their exploitation, were in grave danger when Aspinall’s team stepped in to rescue them.
Sharing a post on Instagram, Freya Aspinall wrote, “How I sleep at night (not pets)… A few months ago, we rescued 4 baby lions who were only hours away from being euthanized. They were born in captivity to someone who exploits animals for profit, and someone reached out to us to see if we could help.”
“Within hours, we were able to intervene and rescue them immediately. I then began the journey of hand-raising them, which includes sleeping with them and nurturing them as a mother would,” he further wrote.
She added, “Our plan is to send them to Africa, where they truly belong, just as we have done with other lions we’ve rescued and hand-raised before. Hand-raising is always a last resort, but in this case, it was the only way to save their lives❤️.”
