Police arrived at the scene after being alerted by neighbours, and found Gayatri next to her husband’s lifeless body. The woman was arrested and is currently facing charges of murder, remaining in preventive detention while the judicial process continues.
The background of the tragedy involves serious economic problems and Satyapal’s alcoholism, who spent a large part of his income on drink, leaving the family in a critical situation.
The couple had two children, Rohit and Dolly, who have been left in the care of their paternal grandmother, facing an uncertain future after losing both parents in traumatic circumstances.
