María de las Mercedes Milá Mancos, born in Esplugas de Llobregat, Barcelona, on April 5, 1951, is a Spanish journalist and television presenter. She is the eldest daughter of the 2nd Count of Montseny and his mother Mercedes, who had 6 children in total.
She began studying philosophy and literature, but abandoned it and began studying journalism and graduated in 1974. That same year, Mercedes entered the workforce working as a journalist but in the area of print media, specifically, at Correo de Andalucía and in the sports sections of the same magazine.
Mercedes Milá on television
She began to become a recognizable face when in 1978, she was selected to present, alongside Isabel Tenaille, the interview program “Dos por dos” by Fernando García Tola, which gained great acceptance from the Spanish public. However, after the cancellation of the program, she did not receive any more offers on television.
She has had a long and notable career in Spanish television, presenting several reality shows and opening television programs. She has worked in various areas of television, an experience that has led her to grow in the world of communications at a national and international level.
The opportunity to be on TVE arose, a great option for professional growth and another experience, however, she did not carry out a new project in years with the media outlet and they did not call her again to present a new program.
In September 2023, the presenter signed a new contract with TVE three decades after her last project, to present a new interview show on the television channel La 1. Weeks later, the name of the program was announced, “No sé de qué me hablas”, co-presented with Inés Hernand.
