A group of young people has caught the attention of TikTok users for their theory to speed up rainfall , which includes reusing water from washing machines and batteries.
The friends, whose nationality is unknown, led by @ adriana_soria03 , have started a campaign on the Chinese platform to help the environment.
As explained in their video, published on September 9, they collect used water from their washing machines and sinks in buckets or pails and then throw it onto the asphalt.
With their initiative they are not only seeking to reuse , but also to contribute their ” grain of sand ” to the emergency that is being experienced in their country due to the lack of rain.
“A super easy way to help is by pouring recycled water on the asphalt. If we do this together we can help the water evaporate faster, which could contribute to generating more rain ,” they explained.

In just five days, his unusual and unconfirmed theory has captured the attention of more than 3 million TikTok users, who did not hesitate to leave their messages.
“Wouldn’t evaporation be faster if we watered the plants? In my area we are watering all the plants”; “Ask a biologist, I’m sure this doesn’t help at all” and “The water cycle doesn’t work like this ” can be read.
Similarly, a Mexican biologist has explained through this same platform that this type of action does not work as the young women explain.
“Much of the water you throw away will be absorbed by the pavement and the amount that evaporates will not be enough to strengthen the clouds,” @soyrafacarbajal specified .
He also stressed that the water cycle occurs in large bodies of water, such as lagoons, rivers and seas , so that the water is constantly evaporating.

Despite this and the fact that their theory is not 100% reliable, there are those who applaud them because at least they help to cool the asphalt and thus, in a minimal and temporary way, lower the temperature.
