Susana Zabaleta, originally from Monclova, Coahuila, is a prominent Mexican soprano, actress and presenter born on September 30, 1964. Trained in opera in Italy and at the Escuela Superior de Música in Mexico, she began her career participating in productions such as La Traviata and Dido and Aeneas , and collaborating with the group Who’s Who in Theater and Opera.
Between 1986 and 1988, Zabaleta starred in theatre productions such as Fiddler on the Roof and Steel Magnolias , winning several awards for her acting talent. In the 1990s, she participated in Sex, Pudor and Tears , one of her most iconic roles, and was awarded the Ariel Award for Best Actress.
Her musical projects include her first album ¿O…fue un sueño? (1993) and several albums in collaboration with Armando Manzanero. She is also known for her role in the soap opera Pueblo chico, infierno grande and for lending her voice to the film Pocahontas . On television, she stood out with her program SuSana Adicción and in dubbing with the voice of Morticia Addams in The Addams Family (2019 and 2021).
In December 2020, she published El otro libro de los abrazos , co-written with Pilar Montes de Oca, and in 2024 she began a relationship with comedian Ricardo Pérez, thirty years her junior.
