The National Police rescued a woman who had been held by an armed man in a motel located in the San Sebastián sector, San José , Costa Rica and everything was captured on video.
The incident occurred at an establishment called Maison Doore , according to official sources.
The report indicates that a Peruvian man, identified as Iriarte, held the woman, of Nicaraguan origin, under threat of firearm, holding her by the neck.
In response to the emergency call, authorities quickly arrived at the scene, managing to save the victim and arrest the suspect.
During the operation, authorities released a video in which Iriarte is heard talking to his son before turning himself in to the police.

In the recording, the man tells him “I love you daddy,” to which the boy replies “I do too.” Later, the negotiating agent asks Iriarte: “Can I hang up on your son now?”, marking the moment when the man decides to give up.
Authorities suspect Iriarte is linked to a criminal organization operating in San José, Costa Rica . After his arrest, he was handed over to the Flagrancy Prosecutor’s Office to face charges of deprivation of liberty and threats with a firearm.
The victim was rescued without serious injuries, and investigations are continuing to clarify the reasons for the incident and the relationship between the two people involved.
Iriarte was placed at the disposal of the Courts of the Second Judicial Circuit of San José , where he will face a judicial process for these events.
