Kwara United were charged for breaching NPFL Framework & Rules during their Matchday 22 rearranged fixture on February 18, 2026, at Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.

The club failed to provide adequate and effective security, allowing unauthorized persons into restricted areas.

Supporters engaged in misconduct, including:
Harassment and assault of match officials.
Assault of Rivers United officials.
Causing bodily harm.
Holding match officials and Rivers United officials hostage for several hours.
Bringing the game into disrepute through unsporting behaviour.

🔹 Financial Penalties (Total: N9 Million)
N2m – Failure to provide adequate security
N1m – Failure to control supporters
N2m – Assault on match officials and Rivers United officials
N1m – Unsporting behaviour bringing the game to disrepute
N1m – Holding officials hostage
N2m – Compensation for treatment and damages

🔹 Sporting Sanctions
Deduction of THREE points from Kwara United’s total points.
Deduction of THREE goals from their accrued goals.
Remaining home matches to be played at MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta.

🔹 Additional Directives
The club must identify and present the supporters involved for arrest and prosecution.
Kwara United have 48 hours to appeal the sanctions.
