This was undoubtedly a requisite from Max Verstappen to stay at the team. He IS the team now, unfortunately for all. It is the reason the second driver will never succeed, it is the reason the likes of Newey left, it is the reason RB will struggle to get back to the top in the current environment especially with the new engine regs in 2026.
Saw this coming before the season. If the car performed, he would still be there. But it would be interesting to see who replaces him.
As expected. I thought about this from last season when they tried so much to show his family angle. Does this mean Max is really leaving?
It’s a bit late, the damage to the Red Bull team has already been done. If they lose Max they will become a midfield team, I mean look at Max’s current and last team mate, absolutely nowhere.
Attempt to keep Max happy by showing intent, or sacking him because Max is leaving and they need to completely restructure?
20 years at the top — not just building a team, but an empire. Christian Horner’s exit reminds us: even in a sport obsessed with speed, legacy takes time. What he created wasn’t just about winning — it was about redefining what’s possible. Chapters close, engines fall silent… but greatness leaves a resonance long after the checkered flag.
