DNVT Reports 65 Accidents and 10 Deaths Over the Weekend

To date, more than 5,600 traffic accidents have been reported in Honduras this year, leaving a tragic death toll of approximately 624.

The National Directorate of Roads and Transport ( DNVT ) reported that between Friday, May 2 and Sunday, May 4, at least 65 traffic accidents were recorded in different areas of the country, with a tragic death toll of 10 people.

The departments with the highest incidence were Cortés and Francisco Morazán , where the greatest number of traffic incidents were concentrated.

According to authorities, most of the fatalities were motorcycle riders, a frequently repeated pattern. Of every 10 reported accidents, at least 7 involved motorcyclists, many of whom were unlicensed.
