The woman pleaded with him to stop the killings and kidnappings that have become too much in Nigeria. She begged him to think about the innocent lives being lost every day.
The young man responded by saying that soldiers had attacked their herd, killed their cows, and even shot newborn calves. He said soldiers also killed some of their Fulani brothers, and he questioned why anyone would shoot a calf born that very same day.
She asked him in return how he could compare human life to animals. She reminded him that he once said the government should build special schools for them so their children could get an education. She asked why they couldn’t join the Hausa community and go to school like everyone else, instead of demanding separate schools.
Moral Lesson:
When a nation reaches a point where human life is argued against the life of animals, it shows how deeply hurt and divided we have become. Violence—whether from bandits, soldiers, or anyone—only destroys more families and widens the wound in our country. Nigeria is bleeding, and we cannot continue like this. Every life matters. Every killing leaves a mother crying, a child orphaned, and a community broken.
May we choose peace over revenge, unity over division, and life over death. Nigeria deserves better.
