US Senator Says He is Almost Honduran

Virginia Democratic Senator Tim Kaine said on Wednesday that he feels “almost Honduran” after living in Honduras for a while .
While being interviewed by US-based Uruguayan content creator Carlos Eduardo Espina , Kaine explained that he speaks Spanish so well because he learned it in the Central American country.
“I lived in Honduras a long time ago, working as a missionary and teaching in a carpentry and welding school ,” explained Timothy Michael Kaine (his given name).
This experience, which he did not specify the exact date on which it occurred, made the senator fall completely in love with Honduras, he said in the interview.
” I am almost, almost, Honduran ,” he said while touching his heart and showing a huge smile of nostalgia.

Who is Tim Kaine?
Tim Kaine is an American lawyer and politician who has served as the junior United States Senator from Virginia since 2013.
Born on February 26, 1958 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Kaine has had a diverse political career.
He is a member of the Democratic Party and also served as the 70th Governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010, and as the 38th Lieutenant Governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006. Prior to his state executive duties, he served as Mayor of Richmond from 1998 to 2001.
Kaine was the Democratic nominee for Vice President of the United States in the 2016 election, alongside Hillary Clinton . Although they won the popular vote, they were defeated in the Electoral College by the Republican ticket of Donald Trump and Mike Pence.
In education, Kaine earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Missouri and a law doctorate from Harvard Law School .
Her career prior to entering politics included practicing law in Richmond, Virginia, specializing in fair housing issues, and teaching legal ethics at the University of Richmond School of Law.
Kaine has served on several committees during his time in the Senate, including Armed Services, Budget and Foreign Relations, showing a commitment to domestic and international issues.
