Truck Overturns And Destroys Another Vehicle in El Carrizal
The spectacular accident left one vehicle destroyed, one driver in a nervous breakdown and the person responsible still unlocated.
A serious traffic accident occurred on Monday morning in the El Carrizal neighborhood of Tegucigalpa , when a heavy truck loaded with wood lost control due to an apparent failure in the brake system, violently impacting a double-cab pick-up vehicle.
The incident occurred at approximately 10 a.m., leaving a pickup truck completely destroyed and its driver in a nervous breakdown, although fortunately stable and without serious injuries.
According to preliminary reports, the truck without brakes dragged the pick-up vehicle approximately 30 meters, which generated scenes of panic in the area.
Images of the accident show the magnitude of the impact: the pick-up vehicle was severely damaged, while the truck spilled oil and coolant , forcing the Fire Department to intervene to deactivate the electrical system and fuel, thus preventing a fire from breaking out.
Drivers involved
The truck driver was not located at the scene of the accident. Witnesses say that he was making a phone call to the owner of the heavy vehicle at the time of the accident .
The driver of the pickup truck was treated by paramedics from the Honduran Red Cross , who confirmed that he was in a state of nervous breakdown with some minor scratches, but without serious injuries.
“Thank God he is stable, he just had a nervous breakdown. It is no wonder after having lived through such an experience,” said a paramedic at the scene.
Traffic chaos and clean-up work
The accident caused heavy traffic in the area, so the National Directorate of Roads and Transport (DNVT) was asked to intervene to regulate vehicular traffic. In addition, firefighters began cleaning work to remove the oil and prevent possible skidding.
The pick-up driver, visibly shaken, was consoled by relatives who arrived at the scene of the incident.
