Son Who Killed His Father in Siguatepeque Had Been Hospitalized For Drug Addiction

This Wednesday, a young man was captured after killing his father with a knife in their home in the village of Los Chagüites, Siguatepeque, Comayagua, central Honduras.
According to information provided by National Police officers, Ángel Gamaliel Mejía Cárcamo stabbed his father several times until he died.
After the crime, the Honduran, of unspecified age, fled to a wooded area of the village , where he was pursued and later captured by the uniformed officers.

How did he kill his father?
According to the information gathered, on the morning of March 12, father and son had a confrontation in their home, where the father took his life.
After the confrontation, neighbors alerted authorities, who upon arriving at the scene found Miguel Ángel Montoya, approximately 64 years old , in a pool of blood.
The residents also revealed that the man, who was a security guard, had admitted his son to a help center for his drug problems.
However, a few days ago he decided to take him out and take him home , without imagining the outcome that would happen.
Mejía Cárcamo has already been transferred to the Siguatepeque Police Station, where he will remain incarcerated while being investigated for the crime of parricide.

The Honduran Penal Code, in its article 194, establishes that: “Whoever kills any of his or her ancestors, descendants, spouse or person with whom the injured party maintains a stable relationship of a similar nature to the above, must be punished with imprisonment of twenty (20) to twenty-five (25) years.”
