Millions of users are facing disruptions as Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook and Teams, experience an outage.
“We’re focusing our investigation on token generation within our authentication infrastructure,” the company’s Service Health Status page states.
“In parallel, we’re reviewing recent changes to determine the root cause.”
The issue was reported around 7:45 am ET, with Microsoft describing it as “Service Degradation” for web-based applications.
The company has advised users to access Microsoft 365 apps and documents via desktop applications as a temporary measure.
The outage has affected key services within the Microsoft 365 suite, including Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Purview, Copilot, and both web and desktop versions of Outlook.
Outlook and Teams have drawn the highest number of complaints from users, particularly those starting their workday.
